The project of "Key Technology of Large Capacity DC Breaking and Development of High, Middle and Low Voltage Serialized DC Circuit Breakers" completed by BPEG won the first prize of the Technological Invention Award in Oct. 2021.

The overcoming of high-voltage and high-power DC current breaking technology has made breakthroughs in the bottleneck problem that restricts the development of DC power grids. In the meantime, the project realizes the company's transformation into the field of power electronics. BPEG had began to research and develop 535kV coupled negative voltage DC circuit breaker with Tsinghua University since 2018. In Jun.2020, two 535kV DC circuit breakers passed artificial earthing test in one-time. In 2022, two 535kV DC circuit breakers successfully put into operation in Zhangbei Renewable Energy - Flexible DC Power Grid Test and Demonstration Project. The project plays an important role in Green Winter Olympic.
